About the Artist-

Cynthia has a B.S. in Ed. from Northern Illinois University
and a Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of
Michigan.She spent several years teaching
social studies and English where she incorporated her photography in her
lessons.She has traveled
extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico and Micronesia.She has lived in Illinois, the Marshall
Islands, California, Florida, Michigan and North Carolina.
Cynthia is a self-taught photographer. Her keen eye for
composition and a real feeling for the beauty and symmetry in nature makes her
photography unique and beautiful.She
has been photographing in 35mm format since 1969 and digital format since 2005.
While living in Florida, she participated in several
workshops and classes as a student of Helen Longest–Saccone and won several
honors in photography contests in the area.Her images have hung in the Grand Hotel and Quorum Art
Gallery on Mackinac Island, Michigan, in the First National Bank in Palm Beach,
The Tequesta Art Gallery in Florida, as well as the Dreher Park Zoo in West
Palm Beach and Florida’s Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge.
Cynthia resides in Tryon NC and spends a great deal of time
traversing and photographing the environs of the Blue Ridge Mountains.Her latest passion has been capturing
the power and beauty of Appalachian waterfalls. She has prepared waterfall slide presentations and talks and is in the process of compiling a waterfall book.
